I provide consulting and testifying expert witness services in cases involving allegations of patent infringement, defective product design or manufacture, misuse, or other factual questions related to the function, capabilities or design of:

  • Handguns, including revolvers, semi-auto pistols, single shot pistols, and airguns.
  • Rifles, including modern sporting rifles, vintage rifles, bullpup designs, centerfire or rimfire, bolt action, semi-auto, lever action, etc.
  • Shotguns, including break action, pump action, semi-auto, etc.
  • Holsters, including duty holsters and belts, sporting holsters, concealment holsters (e.g. IWB, OWB, shoulder, pocket, kydex, leather, fabric), etc.
  • Other firearm accessories, including magazines & loaders, weapon-mounted lights, suppressors, braces, slings, etc.
  • Gun subcomponents and after-market modifications, including triggers, sights, and stocks.

My services include forming reliable opinions based on inspections, measurements, and/or testing (e.g., operational and safety testing such as drop testing, performance testing, and other case-specific testing) of guns and related accessories. My case-specific inspections and testing may be comparative to applicable standards (e.g., SAAMI, MIL-STD, NIJ, Cal., Mass., etc.), product designs from alternative suppliers, or asserted patent claims.
